Curriculum courses are distributed in:

 22 compulsory courses and

 22 compulsory elective courses, which are divided into 5 Thematic Units:

  • • Θ.Ε.1. Sociology-General Framework
  • • Θ.Ε.2. Sociology-Theory and Applications
  • • Θ.Ε.3. Criminology
  • • Θ.Ε.4. Neohellenic and European Society
  • • Θ.Ε.5. Seminars, Foreign Languages, Lessons from another Department (MET)

In the third semester of their studies, students are required to choose one of the three main thematic units Θ.2, Θ.3. and Θ.Ε.4.

From the main thematic unit of their choice [Θ.Ε.2. or Θ.Ε.3. or Θ.Ε.4.], they have to choose at least 14 of the offered courses.

The remaining 8 courses which are required in order to complete the number of 22 compulsory elective courses for obtaining the Bachelor of Arts, can be chosen from all thematic units (Θ.Ε.1., Θ.Ε.2., Θ.Ε.3., ΘΕ.4. and Θ.Ε.5.) based on students΄preferences.

Students who wish to improve their degree can choose extra lessons only from the main thematic unit they have chosen.

In the fourth semester, students are allowed to change the choice of the main thematic unit [Θ.E.2, Θ.E.3, Θ.E.4] if they wish to.
